about

*DEMO* Between the dog and the wolf is a phrase that comes from the French and it means that bit of evening right between day and night. It got me thinking about spaces between things and gaps and how we are are so uncomfortable with grey areas and being in between things.. but of course we are constantly in between.. we have never arrived at anything because time just goes on!

lyrics

in the gap left by my baby tooth
theres a chance between the dog and the wolf
but its a lonely road to wander down
to tell the truth

in the space between the summer pine
between the courage and the glass of wine
i'll be a mother just like you
sometime

in the cold i left the window open
in the draft i guess the door is broken
in the silence of what we left unspoken

there's a moment when i wake
when i don't remember that it's November
can you tell me where the summer's gone?
and it hurts my childish head
to think time passes so relentlessly
passing you
passing me
but it soothes my old man soul
to walk home in its dark and cold
and kick the leaves
and know your waiting for me.
